Marking 10 Years of Nine Fish Gallery, Brown and Green brings together artists who have been part of the journey over time including Michelle Boyle .This group exhibition presents diverse practices within a shared thematic framework of grounding and vitality
This painting depicts the artist’s mother, Mary Boyle holding her as a child in the garden of their home in Cedarwood Road Dublin. Both look directly to the viewer in a composition which references historic and religious mother and child paintings. The painting title is inspired by the poem ‘The Ordinary Woman’ by Mary Dorcey
