National Gallery of Ireland

Painting workshop Saturday & Sunday 27 th/ 28 the January 2024 with Michelle Boyle

‘The celebrated painter J.M.W Turner was renowned for capturing atmospheric phenomena of light effects in his work. In Turner’s continental travel sketches, the changing light of sky played a significant role when recording of a specific place such as specific places such as Lake Lucerne, Venice and Passau.

As part of our programme for the exhibition, Turner and Coastal Scenes, the renowned artist Michelle Boyle will lead a weekend painting course based works in the show. The course will include presentations, demonstrations capturing light, experimenting with colour and incorporating natural phenomena into a landscape….’
